OKk I used to have two sticks of 256mb on my board. I changed one of them about a month ago for a 1024mb stick. Everything runs fine, however, I've just noticed that on the 'SPD' tab of cpuz it now does not give me any info about the mem sticks?

see screen print outs of before and after. Any idea why there is no further info now?

ok thanks I deleted the old version, installed the latest version (1.51)...

it's still the same. Everything below 'module size' is blank and greyed out? :(

What does it show in the memory TAB? is everything running as it should? The SPD is just text for reference really.

There is a small chance that a motherboard BIOS flash might solve it. It's possible to fit a CPU that works correctly but the motherboard doesn't know what it is untill you update the BIOS (although in this case it usually doesn't work at all untill you do)

a clue

thanks

there is a difference in the memory tab - the 'command rate' has changed from 2T to 1T. I have no idea what this means?
How has the timing been changed? - I haven't changed any setting - all I did was replace one original stick of RAM with the new Samsung.

Could the fact that they (the RAM sticks) are two different makes be a problem?

*edit: I just removed the second stick (the small 256mb one) to leave only the single 1GB Samsung stick there., and it is the same - no info in the spd tab, and command rate of 1T (which I understand is faster in general than 2T).

The samsung stick is 'double sided' with chips. Could that be an issue? Is it possible my (quite old Asus K8V se deluxe) board has a conflict with it in some way?
