Hi

When i run CPU-Z the core speed keeps changing from
1632.4mhz to 2448.1mhz every 2-3 sec but when i run prime 95 its stable

whats going on ?

Intel speedstep... go to your bios and disable it ;)

Basically your multiplier is being lowered whenever your CPU isnt being used ;)

its speedstep, turn it off while testing overclocks but when you are sure its stable might aswell turn it back on, itll go back to the full speed when the cpu usage rises.

Intel 'Speedstep'. Changes your processor speed (Hi/Low) depending on how busy it is.

Great for power/heat/noise saving. Leave it on unless it gives you a problem (works perfectly on my PC, games, benchmarks, internet browsing etc).
