CPU-z showing different GHz

i have my multiplyer set to x9,my fsb set to 333,wich should be giving me 3GHz,But,CPU-z is showing 1.6Ghz,when i right click my computer and select properties,its showing 2.4.

anyone know why this is happening?

what does your bus speed and multiplier say in cpu-z?

because 1.6ghz seems to me like an fsb of 266 with a multiplier of 6

CPU-z is showing :

Bus speed of 266.7

Multiplier x6

but the BIOS is set to x9

now and again the multiplier flickers between x6 and x9,giving me 1.6GHz and 3.0GHz

speed step is still on, as far as im aware, only c1e and e1st as i said in the other thread need to be turned off in the bios to keep the multiplier from moving about. look up intel speedstep for a more detailed explanation

its speedstep, underclocks processor when not in use

no need to disable it

ok i have turned off the c1e and e1st and im now @ 2.4 again,but multiplier is set to x9,with a bus speed of 266,when in bios its set to 333
