Coretemp showing E2140 tjunction at 100c.

I take it this is just a bug in CPU-Z? Both cores look fine temperature wise. Its just the tjunction is a 100c.

Tjunction is the value for the maximum temperature at the junction between the processor die and the PCB it sits on.

It's used by programs like CoreTemp to read out the core temperature - the value given is "Tjunction - DTS Readout".

Most (if not all) Allendale based Core 2 Duo's have a Tjunction of 100*c. Conroe's have a Tjunction of 85*c normally.

Yup it is. Ie. the maximum temperature the junction should be allowed to reach is 100C.

Although that's probably worst case scenario - in real life it will most probably never reach anything near that.

Remember it's a maximum value, not an actual reading.

Yer the processors down clock at around 80C and then turn off at 100C. To save them selves from death.
