CPU-Z Stats Confusion :/

Hulp!

This is my CPU-Z validation

It doesn't make sense to me... Anyone shed some light?

Graphics stats... Wtf?

Also, memory speeds... 900Mhz? Am I being thick?

Well, 900MHz RAM speed? I have this RAM, isn't it supposed to run at 1600Mhz? It's set to the XMP profile in the BIOS.

Also, I have this graphics card, and CPU-Z reports:

GPU Clocks : Core 157 MHz / RAM 300 MHz

whereas the official spec for the card is:

Core Clock: 725MHz / Memory Clock: 4000MHz (Effective)

I don't get it...

Ah right, I see.

The Graphics card is because of Catalyst Control Centre. When its not being used, It'll go into '2D' mode and throttle your graphics card since its not being used. If you stress test your graphics (Furmark) you'll see it'll go up to the correct speeds.

As for your ram, Looks like the ratios are set wrong. Notice the (2:12) so thats CPU:RAM - 150:900. As for fixing it, Its somewhere in the bios (Couldn't tell you where though)

The gpu speeds will probably be 2d clocks for nothing stressfull.

The memory speed would indicate your running @ 1900mhz, can you post screen shots of the memory tab and SPD tab in CPU-Z.

Never really touched Ram so I can't help you there. But I can almost guarantee it's just something set wrong in the Bios.

Hopfully someone else who knows a bit more will be along soon

Why'd you get that from? And also, would it be ideal to get the ratio as close to 1:1 as possible? And how would I go about doing that?

Your ram is currently set to run at 899mhz (1798mhz double data rate) when overclocking as you raise the bclk your ram speed also increases, ideally youll want to run your ram at or below its rated speed of 1600mhz, under the ram frequency option in bios, select a speed that sets the ram as close but still below 1600mhz, also set the uncore clock frequency to 2x the speed of the ram. Ie if the ram is at 1433 mhz, set uclk to 2866mhz. All this will help to take the ram out of the equation when testing cpu stability.

And the GPU stats is because it is in 2D mode, so the readings CPUZ is reporting here is normal.

If your RAM is running stable at 1800MHz (900MHz x 2) then I would leave it there, however, I have the same RAM as you, and mine are poor for overclocking, anything higher than 1600MHz and my rig becomes extremely unstable.

Have you tried any stress testing apps like LinX or Prime95 to test your rig for stability?

I see... I'll have a nose around the BIOS in a minute and see what I find regarding that.

Just FYI, I havent' overclocked to that or anything... I literally just went into the BIOS and chose the XMP profile for the RAM rather than the auto setting that it was set up by default.

I've only stress tested for a minimal amount of time (15 mins?), but maybe I'll leave it running overnight? I used Prime95 before.

Heres an early oc pic from my setup.

Select dram frequency and a drop down list of available ram frequencys will appear. This is with AI overclock set to manual.

I wouldnt suggest copying it, that was some very early settings that i used when i first started overclocking this setup, i currently have the ram running a bit higher and voltages a lot lower than whats set in that screenie, im not that clued up on this xmp setting, but i take it this is a type of preset profile for ram? I tend to just set the overclock tuning section to manual and set voltages, frequencys myself. Starting with the lowest settings and working from there.
