Cpus dying more often now?

with millions of users and very few has issues its safe to say hardware works really well
Usually a user error is involved, pushing out of spec etc..if things start dying a lot

The boards are the most common point of failure which is why old CPUs are really cheap yet the boards are normally much more.

I've had one CPU die on me in my PC building rig history (20 years, the 9 before that were pre-builds) that was an cheap Duron build circa 2004. My own fault entirely. I was talked into buying a socket A copper spacer to help cool the CPU. I dont think i Installed said spacer right and ended up burning the CPU out. The replacement CPU did not have that spacer and it worked fine. You live & learn.
