I have the opertunity to buy either of these Procs very cheaply to build a new system for the other half.

Athlon 64 Fx 51 1MB or Pentium 4 Processor 540 3.2 1MB

Mostly used for Folding/FAAH (24/7) also a bit of gaming occationally (command conquer/worms) word/excel.

Which would be the best for Folding ie ppd etc

As for the games i can hardly imagine either would be troubled by her games espcially with the spare 6800GT that i have.

The P4 will be the best by far as soon as QMD WUs come back online. I have a few 540s and they do 2 QMDs in about 30 hours. That's 900 pts ever day and a quarter.

It's possible to overclock the FX to beat the P4 in ppd, but I think that you're better off with stock speeds if it's not for you.
