I have been overclocking and it seems stable 8 x 400 3.2

Cpuz report 6 X 400 2.4

Windows reports 3.6 i dont know how it worked that out

Speed step is off

Any ideas

I found that turning speedstep "off" did anything but when it comes to CPUZ, run prime and it'll show 8 x 400

Speedstep underclocks your cpu by turning the multiplyr down to 6 when its not needed to be running at what ever you set it at. This is no problem, when required it will automaticaly overclock its self. I would suggest you just leave it.

Like said above, just run prime or orthos on it to see the true speed when on load.

Depending on your mobo there may be more than one option which you need to disable to turn SpeedStep off... check if EIST is enabled, or anything else that sounds like it might be SpeedStep-related.

Probably using the CPU's default multi - 9x400 = 3.6.
