Great review here.

http://www.digitalversus.com/article-357-6954-36.html

It has the best contrast ratio i have ever seen in a monitor with a MASSIVE 3000:1 STATIC contrast ratio, my Dell 2209wa only gets 600+ and that is an IPS panel. Also the blacks are very black with the best black depth i have also ever seen on a monitor (0.03cd/m2) where most monitors average around 0.2. However after reading reviews on newegg (and a few expert reviews) state that it has a huge amount of black crush (probably because of the panel type) which means that blacks are too black and some details are too dark in dark textures cutting out some detail.

Also this monitor is not made for gamers because it has a rather large response time (8ms) and judging from a youtube video i saw it has some quite noticeable ghosting.

It's basically cheaper to make S-PVA but for gaming or moving content it's craPVA because it lacks RTC and real response time is about 20ms.

bugger might just stick with the Samsung SM2443BW 24" 1200 res untill these nec ips monitors come out next year as dell and hp have to many problems.

is there a better 24" with the same type of panel as the Samsung SM2443BW but not a ips or pva as i need somthing to tide me over or is the Samsung SM2443BW about the best at this range ?

thanks
