Hey guys,

Was in the process of changing all the tubing and flushing the system when I noticed small cracks on the block.

Anything I can do with this you reckon?? Cracks dont seem to have reached the top thread yet but its only a matter of time.

Anyone ever use PTFE tape on the threads?? Maybe that would make it worse, i dunno. Heres a picture anyway

Any ideas would be great

Buy a new one, not worth using it again and risk leaking coolant all over your expensive components, it's a no brainer.

PTFE would stop it leaking from the joints but if the cracks get worse it could leak from the top itself, did you over-tighten the fittings or something?

RMA it back to EK

and dont tighten your fittings up so tight next time.

personally, this is why I changed to Acetal blocks before i went back to aircooling.

Plexi top by any chance - I don't think EK will RMA it if it's been used.
But they do sell replacement tops (I wonder why...)
Plexi has no place in blocks imho - Acetal or all metal construction.

Cheers for the response guys, i guess i knew what you lot were gonna say, just false hope i guess.

Momo, ill take you up on your offer if its still open??? ill paypal you a few quid though

Just for the record guys, i bought the pc like this, took the block off and it was like that, gutted.

Cheerss Andy, ow do I do that? Can;t seem to find it in the 'user cp'

I clicked on the trust button under my post and click saved so not sure if that did anything

Had the same happen to me with the original EK supereme HF. I didn't even tighten the fittings too hard and it cracked. Haven't cracked the full nickel one yet.
