Afternoon,

In preparation for Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise I need to make sure my DS is in tip tip condition but sadly it has a damaged hinge.

I have had the DS for well over a year so no chance of repair under warranty but is it something which I should worry about or would it be safe to try and glue (only a little split at the moment) to hold off total failure.

Thanks,

David

Ring Nintendo up and ask them if they will repair it?

For the record I only ever open my DS to the first 'ratchet' and my hinge is fine.

I'll gave them ago and it'll cost around £55 quid to repair it.

Will live with it and see how it goes.

I wouldn't worry about it, my first DS Lite went, but got replaced as it was still within warranty. However the second one went as well and at that point I decided to leave it and just put up with it. It's been fine apart from the crack in the plastic, which has shown no signs of getting any worse.

mines been cracked for ages, doesnt seem to affect it really. mine also cracked just outside of warrenty :/

Anyone know how hard/easy it is to repair yourself? Ive seen replacement cases for about £25 or are there any places online/highstreet that will do it for similar price?

Just to add, this is a known issue with the DS, even though Nintendo will replace it because of that fault if the unit is still in warranty there's been no reports of the problem getting any worse. It's just a cosmetic problem, don't worry about it.
