Apple replaced the screen on my 5s last weekend. Took just over an hour and cost £99.
I watched several YouTube videos of how to replace a screen and came to the conclusion it wasn't worth the risk, especially when I saw the home button removal using a razor blade
Good Evening,
Could upload a photo of the phone? Cause you might have done damage than just the screen.
How old is the Iphone?
I have changed a few, its not to bad!
Guessing you drop it? If i was you, i would try and get someone who know what there doing to fixed it, Cause you might have done damage to the headphone port or the charging point.
She doesn't use the headphones and its charging alright currently.
I'm pretty adept at things like this so I'll see what she thinks, probably easier to buy a unit (screen + everything attached) or ask if she wants to get a quite from apple then I guess.
Ah fair enough. I was just saying Delvis Ah i have done it a few times and if you are like me and are good at watching video's and fixing things, then i would suggest you do it yourself but if you wanted to be on the safe side then you could go to Apple.
After doing some research i found this
How much does iPhone screen repair cost?
Repair and replacement costs depend on your iPhone model and your AppleCare product coverage.
When you request screen repair online or by phone, Apple will place an authorization on your credit card to cover the iPhone out-of-warranty cost. We’ll charge this amount if your iPhone has additional damage and is eligible for out-of-warranty service. If your iPhone has no damage other than the screen, we’ll charge the amount below
iPhone 6: £86.44
iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: £106.44
Fees are in British pounds sterling and include VAT and a £7.44 shipping fee. Pricing applies only to screen repair by Apple. Accidental damage isn’t covered under the Apple One Year Limited Warranty. click here for the link
Hah sorry if that came across bluntly it wasn't my intention! I'm appreciating the advice.
Christ, £100? That's a fair whack :/ I don't think she has any coverage at all, I also presumed that as its self damaged as opposed to faulty warranty wouldn't be relevant here?
I'll probably buy a screen and kit etc, I'd be fine changing the kit as a unit but less so changing the mic etc but we'll see, I'll try keep people posted!
Yes its a fair whack. Did you drop the iphone on its face or its edge?
I am happy to help you if i can! either via Skype or Teamspeak or something to help you
Cheers
A
