Basically I have a cracked panel on my Sony KDL55 W8 screen. It was brought from John Lewis with the 5 year warranty but that doesn't look like it covers accidental damage.

The screen was accidentally damaged when my son tricked and flung the ps4 controller at it.

Sony Centre are closed at the moment but does anyone have any experience on this situation?

A) I see my options as getting Sony to repair
B) Claim on insurance
C) Replace

It cost me about £700-800 about two years ago. I was hoping to keep it a good two or three more so the prices of 4k came down.

Any advice appreciated

If you don't already have it, you can likely add accidental damage cover to your home contents insurance for around that amount, then everything's covered.
Down side to that is the excess. Most have a minimum of £250 which means after a few years the TV devalues to £500 and you get £250 for a replacement.

Where as this way you get a like product if it gets damaged. £65 for fives years and no penalties for home content sounds better to me.
