My friend's son has a crack on his PSP screen. No idea how bad it is exactly, but i was wondering what his options are re: getting it fixed / replaced? Thanks

Has he actually cracked the screen or just the outer casing?

i don't know...but i'm assuming the screen. My friend just phoned me to tell me his ex is on the phone going mental about it because his son cracked it. So yeah, i'm assuming it might be pretty bad.

Get a faulty PSP off of ebay and use that screen to replace it.

Assuming warranties and the like are out of the question.

I took my psp to pieces to change a few bits and bobs and its relatively easy with the right tools, just make sure you have a 0 size philips screwdriver and a good anti-static brush.

...bosh, job done, happy child.

Claim off insurance.
I don't know about the OP but my home insurance has an excess of £100, its not worth claiming considering how much the insurance will raise at the next renewal... and in fairness he would only save around £10 on the retail.

Or he could get an LCD for £30 from a popular auction site and fit it himself, its only about 10 screws.

Phone sony? I phoned them with no evidence of I bought it. Had a new (refurb) out the next day! Brilliant service, worth giving them a call. I told them I had a sticky button, no questions asked. :p
