Crackling computer??

Wierd thing has started to happen, only happens when running top end games? I get a really bad crackling sound from around the memory and cpu and the computer always crashes? i have cleaned and reseated everything and it has muffled the sound somewhat but it still happens and the game still crashes after a while? Has anyone else had a prob like this? Taking everything apart again to clean to see if it helps?

Your power area may have a faulty capacitor - checked for bulging tops?

Sounds like your mobo's power circuitry is on the way out. I'd get the board replaced.

damn board is only just over a year old!! will check the psu and post back!

ok the didnt see any bulging capacitors but everything in the psu was covered in dust everything has been reseated, cleaned and put back in so it might look like i need a new decent motherboard!! dohhh gonna have to wait till after holiday season!

board is a giga x38-ds4 anyone ever heard of probs with capacitors?
