Crackling PC Speaker

For the past few days my Front left speaker on my DTT3500 Speakers has begun to Crackle.
I've checked the wire and there isn't any problems with that and the speaker has been in the same place for months so I cannot see it being interferance from the speaker position.

has anyone suffered this problem before? and if so what could be causing this crackling noise? Is there a Solution?

Test the sound card with some headphones.
Or test the speaker with another source (hi-fi, CD-player, anything).

It's a starting point to identify the problem.
