Crackling PSU

I have had a Hiper 580 PSU for over a year now. In the last few months I have noticed it makes a crackling, electrical sort of sound when I switch it on. This usually goes off after a few seconds and I assumed it was something to do with my dodgy wall socket.

However, I switched it on this morning and saw the red light on the power switch flickering along with the sound, then it just died. I switched it off and back on and now it is working.

Anyone got any ideas? This a dead expensive PSU!

If its still within warranty (at least a year I think, not sure if hiper have a longer manufacturers warranty) then get it replaced. If its about to go it could take the rest of the system with it and hiper have a bad rep lately on here for going pop.
