Hi all,

I'm with Virgin Media for my phone. It's crackling and has so much white noise it's incredibly hard to hear conversations, if at all. I've largely been resorting to using my mobile to make calls instead.

Who do I call regarding the problem? Is it Virgin Media, or is it BT?

Ta for any help!

You call your Communications Provider (Virgin Media) if your phone line is routed over the Openreach network Virgin will organize for an Openreach Engineer.

So your with Virgin Media for your phone....

What does it have to do with BT. They do not use each others wires.

Have you got any extension running off the main box ?
If so unplug all of these and plug your phone directly into the main box without anything else. i.e Sky Box.

If the noise goes away I am guessing there is a faulty extension.
If the noise is still there with you house phone dial 150. This will eventually lead you to an advisor.
Report the fault and find out what they will do about it.
They should be able to test your line from their end.

They might even send an engineer out ???

Hope you sort it though..

Ohhh try a different phone, maybe an older type that is a wired and not a cordless phone.
