crappy left 4 dead servers, any suggestions?

Hi guys,

Have been playing L4D for a little while but keep getting crappy servers when i just choose to "play online", they inevitably end up with at least a 200ping and it's a bit annoying. Where are the good servers for this game? do i need to just get more steam friends? haha. My Steam ID is B@Th*nG if anyone can be of help to add me to the right stuff or point me in the right direction on here that's be great.

type 'open server browser in to the console, for te old style browser

or join the OcUK L4d steam group, ad play with us

Indeed, join the ocuk left4dead group and use the group servers.

Also, when you make a lobby, type "sv_search_key ocuk" into the console. That way your lobby will connect to one of the ocuk group servers (which are looked after properly, have a fair number of admins, and are hosted in Manchester).

add -serverbrowser to the command line and a server browser button appears on the menu. Otherwise use OcUK servers.

Must confess a bit bored with L4D now, everyone knows the tricks and pugs are a pain in the arse half the time with your team either sucking the place up and then leaving or you delivering a spanking and the other team leaving.

I'm a bit bored of it too - really wanting the new Vs maps.

That's the main thing for me.

Bah! was a firewall problem after all that! typical! loads of servers i tried to connect to said "server not responding" as well so adjusted the firewall and all's good now

there simply is not enough achievements to keep you playing...they shoulda made it like battlefield 2

If you play for achievements then you wasted money on the game imo.

They can all be gained with a group of 4 friends and running through a server on coop with easy difficulty. Just the same, you can get them if you do one at a time, painstakingly on Expert. Unfortunatley the achievement system doesn't say what difficulty you did them on and they don't have a difficulty limit.

Personally I don't even find them that fun, they don't really mean much to anyone else playing anyway and it doesn't really make you a better at the game. It's just numbers on a page.

Give my Bucks' and Robs' ass to kick any day over the achievements

(I wouldn't complain with more content and the SDK being released though!!!!)

Also, B@tM*N your steam ID doesn't appear to work. Are you in the OcUK group? If so I'll add you that way - I always sort out a few games in the evening.
