Having an issue currently, shortly after loading on to the desktop on win10 64bit the system completely freezes and needs to be rebooted from the power switch. The primary drive is a Sammy 940 pro 256 which works when plugged into another pc. Have checked sata connections, all in firmly, is there anything anybody would recommend trying before doing a reinstall?

Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

Am not too sure with Win10, have you tried booting in safe mode.
Mash F8 when you boot the computer, providing it still works with Win 10.

Nadda, doesn't put my pc in safe mode, however taken another crack at it appears to either be a buggered sata port or cable, will pick up a spare tomorrow and test.

Found it this should help.

1. Restart your PC. When you get to the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down while you select Power Power icon > Restart.

2. After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Start-up Settings > Restart.

3. After your PC restarts, you’ll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. Or if you’ll need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

I must get win 10 soon Goodluck!

Couldn't get safe mode to work, also picked up a new sata cable and it didn't work, on top of that the small amount of image corruption I saw got worse.

Turns out that despite my investigation it may have in fact been the gpu at fault and is on its way back to overclockers.

After a discussion on the phone with overclockers they agreed that it might be the GPU, for now I'm going to go with them on the conclusion until I either find out it's not or I get angry when the GPU gets back and the freezing starts again.
