I had the Crash Course team in yesterday which consisted of a fireman, road accident policeman, victim support & a woman who went through a windscreen and had 13 operations to rebuild her face.
The class was 30 x 16 year old students and when they had finished there wasn't a dry eye in the room including my own.
The most harrowing stories were from victim support who told one story about a womans 3 month old baby who had gone through a windscreen at 70 mph and the only bit they found was a foot.
The rest of the baby had been swilled by the firemen down the grids in the road :(

Anybody else done this 2 hour course and what effects did it have on you?

Ive seen a simular one at school, but it was only a small car crash and some acting.

These four came in with a DVD showing crash scenes with peoples limbs + heads ripped off.
There was also crash test dummy scenes and other assorted films/pics from when the firemen/police have been out.
In between clips each one would step in and say something.
It was the first time I've had a completely silent class for 2 hours.
They showed one where a car was on top of a dead body and it was in a position where it wasn't spotted for 11 hours.
The driver had died from suffocating and on the floor were all his ripped off nails where he had tried to drag himself out from under the car.

There was one cracking bit of advice for passengers who have tried to get a driver to slow down in a scary situation.
In fact when I got in last night my youngest daughter had been in with a ******** who'd scared the poo out of her and he wouldn't slow down either when she asked him.
Anyway, the advice is - pretend you're going to be sick because there isn't a driver in the world that will want you puking up in their car.
(of course this isn't applicable to a stolen car)
