Hey

I was playing Fallout 3, then I hit another bug and it crashed to desktop (as usual), but 90% of the time when a game crashes on me, I get the last sound of the game repeating in a loop constantly and the only way I have found to fix this is to Restart/Power off-on.

So I reset my Pc but when it got to the desktop, my wallpaper would come up and the task-bar, but nothing else would load, and the Busy mouse icon appeared and would not go away, I left it a little while but still nothing. So I hard reset (as I could not click on start menu) and it did the same again. This time, I turned it off completely (holding power button), waited a minute or so booted it up and all seems fine now.

Any ideas?

If anyone has a clue on my sound issue (the reason why I reset in the first place) that would be much appreciated.

Windows 7 x64
Asus Xonar DS

Thanks

My first thought would be to undo whatever you've changed in the last couple of days, whatever you've installed is usually the culprit. If you've not installed anything, then the next thing to do would be to upgrade your GPU Graphics Card drivers, maybe that will sort it out. If you're using some of the 'altered' Nvidia drivers that have been 'tweaked' to bring the best out of them, then I would go back to the manufacturers drivers and see what that gives you.

If none of that works you might like to consider: System Restore: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore
