Crashing Computer

I have a problem with my computer crashing in windows.
It seems to be fairly stable when it's not doing anything, but if i try copying a large file/number of files while doing general tasks it freezes. That's not to say it never crashes while doing nothing! It seems like a HD problem, or at least it did... I've tried 3 HD's with 3 different SATA cables so i think i can rule this out. Also ran memtest and a CPU stress test with no problems so i think these are also fine. This leaves me with either the motherboard or the powersupply, unless my testing wasn't right in some way?

When it freezes it's very sudden and everything stops, mouse, HD etc instantly and i have to reboot. Also, when it restarts it dosn't mention that windows didn't shut down properly.

Has anyone any idea what could be up and if there's anything i can to to test it? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Steve
