Hey,
Basically, I recently overclocked my dated system (P4 @ 3.2Ghz with a Asus P4C-800E Deluxe mobo, 2GB DDR PC-3200 RAM, and a Saphire HD3850) by 5% (to 3.36GHz for the lazy ones out there
) to test stability etc.
Stabilty tests using prime95 for 1hr indicated full stability, yet my games keep crashing.
Im wondering if this could be a oc'ing problem, or a driver problem, or just a hugely out of date problem.
On a side note, there is another "symptom" - if it can be linked to the above
- is that my mouse often freezes in game (Team Fortress 2 and CSS being the main examples, but any source game really - havent tried my other games xD ) yet Mouse buttons four and five still work. Its normally fixable by swapping USB drives (works for about 15 - 30 mins on average) or re-starting game (45- 1hr30 mins time before it plays up again).
Really want to get this sorted xD
Thanks,
Cookeh
