I recently tried Planetside again (loving the game), only problem is that once i start fighting, say i drop onto Searhus and start fighting, roughly 20-30 mins into the fight i randomly get the blue screen of death. Any ideas on what it may be? I'm running a Fatal1ty AN9 with an AMD X2 5200+, 2 gigs of Geil C4 RAM and a BFG OC 8800gts on Windows XP prof

Could be any number of things, the game is still so buggy its untrue. I recently started playing my free month (they can't give it away it seems...) and I'm still getting bugs I had when I quit 3 years ago along with some I've never seen before.

I'd suggest doing all of the usual, update drivers, defrag, spyware etc etc. Chances are though you wont fix it!

Real helpful posts, everyone. PS plays flawlessly for me on XP with an nvidia card, either it doesn't like one of your drivers or there's something up with your PC. BSODs can be a number of things. Update your mobo drivers first, and then your graphics and sound drivers. Make sure you're running at the correct speeds for your memory and cpu. Make sure your temps aren't too high for the cpu and graphics card. Try taking one stick of ram out at a time and playing with just one in. Have the launcher do a full scan of the files to catch any corrupt ones. Disable hardware acceleration in your sound settings.

Try turning the detail right down, and see if it works. If it does, turn things back on one by one until you get a bsod.
