Hello,
I've just upgraded some of my system in order for my son to have my old'ish gear so that he can upgrade. All my previous hardware was 100% stable.

My new components are:-
MSI Z87 GD65 gaming
i7 4770k @4.2 Ghz
Corsair H100i

Original components reused:-
HAF X case
16Gb ddr3 crucial ballistics tracer 8-8-8-24
MSI GTX 780
Corsair TX 850w v2
Corsair Force 3 ssd 240Gb
Seagate 2TB
Windows 8 upgraded to 8.1

Since using my new hardware on a fresh install I've been having random crashes and reboots but there are no blue screens or error boxes on reboot. If I check event viewer I see kernel-power event id 41 and today also kernel-processor power event id 55. Most of my reboots happen while gaming but it has also happened while watching a movie in media center.

I'm assuming it's my 2.5 year old PSU  My old system was an i5 2500k and everything was rock solid for the last 2 years+

If it is the PSU then I don't want it to take my whole system with it. What's a good PSU for my system for under £150

Thanks in advance
Mike

Edit: Forgot to mention but while gaming cpu temp is 50-60C, gfx temp is around the same. System temp 32C

I've ran memtest86 for an hour and there's no errors there.

Currently running prime95 and after 30 minutes (so far) the CPU temp reached a max of 65C and it fluctuates between 60-63C with no errors. The +12 is constant at 12.144v and the +5 is 5.040v
When I run the Valley benchmark my GPU gets to a max of 60-62C after 30 minutes

Thanks Lemin.
I think my cpu & ram voltages are fine as I've been stress testing the ram & cpu all day without error/crash.

I hope my current tx850w is still under warranty (about 2.5 years old bought from overclockers) so I can sell it and make a bit of money back. :D

I was also looking at the corsair ax860. Would there be any benefit to getting that over the rm850 you linked to?

so im getting the same problem too but my system is not a fresh build. Playing games will reboot the system but on top of that my boot drive is reset. have you found any soloution yet? Are you running Windows 8.1?

oh yes ! I was keeping price down ;)

Underclock your CPU to defaults and work in your daily manner & see if that happens again. Not all tests might confirm that what you're looking for.

I've got a Corsair RM850 coming tomorrow so I can RMA my tx850. I tried a few other things today and I get the same results... reboot. I have updated to windows 8.1 yes :)

have you tried the corsair force on any third party sata ports if you have them? asmedia or marvell controlled ports ect

theres known issues with crashing/freezing on some sandforce controlled ssd's and the intel sata ports/z87 chipset

After installing the Rm 850 I'm now getting the blue screen in win 8

hal.dll hal.dll+35cdf fffff801`d9e0d000 fffff801`d9e7c000 0x0006f000 0x523d5260 21/09/2013 08:01:36 Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Hardware Abstraction Layer DLL 6.3.9600.16408 (winblue_gdr.130920-1803) Microsoft Corporation C:\WINDOWS\system32\hal.dll

One solution I found was to disable the C state for my cpu and this worked for 10 minutes or so lol. This is so irritating  The RM850 claims to be ok with haswell...

I don't know what else to try.

try disabling just the c6/c7 state

could be the new lower power saving

I can't seem to find c6/c7 just Intel C State, C1E Support and Package C State limit.

I've just updated all my chipset drivers etc and lowered my cpu ratio from 42 down to 40 and disabled Intel C State and now I seem stable. I managed to play a game for an hour without a crash :D \o/
