Fan speed says i have a Crazy hot sensor reading 119c/122c. when i touch parts of my board nothing feels that hot, the north bridge was VERY hot but i have a fan cooling it and no change of temp sensor 2 reading.

do i just have a bad sensor or do i need to worry

I assume you mean SpeedFan, and no it is not that hot as it reads a lot of unused Sensors so you need to work out which is which.

It will read the newer Nuvoton and the older ACPI unused sensors on my Mobo so I also get weird readings.

Compare the temps with your Bios and Label them.

Thanks man :D

I have one sensor on my Crosshair V formula that always reads 128C (262F) but nothing is hot. The board and CPU are watercooled. This is using HWmonitor to read temps. I believe it is a sensor that is not able to be read so it defaults high.

My north bridge sink is very hot too hot to touch. so i mounted a 40mm fan on it and it still warm but not hot. i didnt know if that had something to do with it. i know most AMD north bridges are silly hot.

with the fan off temp is 128c with the fan on 119c.

My northbridge used to run at about 52C in my case before I watercooled it and the VRM's. Now it is about 35C but can get a bit higher when the CPU is fully loaded as it shares the same water loop.

119C is crazy high if that is true, that would be too hot to touch, are you running default nb voltages? what nb frequencies are you using? Perhaps mounting a larger fan above it blowing air onto the nb/vrm area would help

NB voltage is set to auto and frequency is stock, a few of my AMD north bridges have been the same and i just put together a build for a pal and his is all running at stock and its the same

@ idle it ok to touch but under load no way, i burnt lines into my finger from the heat sink, that is when i fitted the fan

As said before I think the crazy temps are more down to the sensors not being read properly.

I remember something similar with my Asrock z87 Extreme6 on HW Monitor.

NB volts should be about 1.15 - 1.2V from memory. Some boards I have seen have up to 1.4V, but that may be too high. (Not talking about CPU-NB as that is on the processor).

its set to stock and not OC's so should be a stock voltage. i will pop and have a look in 5. any particular way you would like me to read it? HWM, Bois...
