I tried playing an mkv file like ive done a million times and as soon as it loaded my screen went nuts. The bottom third of the screen was a solid blue colour and the rest was a series of multi coloured horizontal lines. I could still hear the audio but had no way of quitting it and so i had to do a hard reset.

My screen is a 1440p Benq connected to 280x Xfire by displayport. I have an intermittent artifacting problem with GTA5 too so i'm starting to get really fed up of these cards

Hi Goose, which drivers are you using?

Do you have a link to the video?

The GTA V issue is known by us and Rockstar, please refer to this KB for more information.

I dont have a link to the video i'm afraid. Its a 5gb file and my upload speed is pretty horrible. I was also already using DX11 in GTA but still get the artifacting (not the bottom right of the screen stuff, the full blown artifact explosion).

Okay thanks, I'll ask someone in our labs to test MKV playback on a 280X.

What connection to the monitor are you using and what video player were you using?

Displayport and the player is MPC-BE x64.

Sorry should have clarified, what cable are you using, is it a Display Port 1.2 Certified cable?

Does the same problem occur if you use Windows Media Player?
