Anyone seen this?

It looks like a cool little program which could be quite beneficial to people who build, run and maintain websites. I did a search but found nothing, so thought you lot might be interested in taking a look.

I've already entered my email address to be informed when it's ready. :)

I've seen it advertised on various websites I browse. Google Analytics also tells you where users click and don't click as well as a lot of other statistics. You should try that out Overtone.

Thanks for the heads-up; it looks like an interesting project.

However, I'm not confident it will be as useful as it appears. Heatmaps are usually generated by tracking eye-movement rather than clicks and tracking visual hotspots are much more informative than tracking clicks. There are a limited and pre-determined number of hotspots for clicking, and it's not really that important where on the hotspot they're clicking, as long as they do, in my opinion. You can use traditional stats packages to see which areas of your site are most clicked, but I can see how it will be useful to gather how well your graphics are performing as interface elements, and definitely an original twist on presenting those stats. Probably shouldn't judge before I've seen it in action though.

I guess they'll have a script running that records the coordinates of the mouse pointer - will be interesting to see how they handle different resolutions and screen sizes.

IIRC correctly, it will handle screen resolutions of just over 32,000x32,000 ... so I don't think that's much of an an issue. :)

I have looked at the similar Google tool but that's only available when they release it, also.
