Hi Guys,

With most games I install I get crc errors and I can't work out what the problem is? For example when installing games it might get most of the way through the installtion or just get started and I get a crc error.

It happens on either of my optical drives, so i know they are not a fault. Also when I sometimes unzip items I get an error saying the file is corrupt when it is not.

So I ran memtest until level / number 7 with no errors. It ran for like 1 hour (do i need to do it longer?)

I have 4gb of ocz ram, funny thing is if i remove 3 gig the games install with no errors, so it seems the memory is at fault? but no errors on memtest? my system consists of:

Vista 64
abit pro
4gb ocz ram
q6000 at 3.6
8000 gtx at 650/1050

I can play games etc with no issues, so don't really know what the next best move is?

HELP:confused:

Thanks for all the replys guys - I will try all suggestions to see if they fix the problem. I have left all memory related features in the bios at auto apart from the voltage.

My memory frequency is 400Mhz
Cas 5 clocks (auto)
Ras Cas delay 5 (auto)
Ras Precharge (auto)
Cycle time (15)

Does the above seem fairly standard guys? I don't think it is a HD issue as it happens if i try and install on two seperate HD's, but thanks for the suggestion.

Could it be because, the system is overclocked, and thus causing some errors during installations and unzipping files.

I ran Orthos for 5+ hours and then turned the PC off as temps started to worry me, could the system be unstable?

Cheers guys, am still fairly new to all this;)
