CRC Errors

So I just installed a fresh copy of Windows XP on my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop and went to install Antivira until I began to get loads of CRC errors whilst the exe was unpacking itself. I thought the download got corrupted somehow, so I redownloaded the file but it didn't help.

I then went to extract a RAR file and that too began to give me CRC errors with various files not extracting correctly.

I have no idea what is going on. I read that it may be a RAM poblem, so I took RAM in and out and it hasn't helped. Everything else is going fine, I'm posting from the laptop right now but can't do much else.

Anyone got any ideas as to what is wrong, or will I have to install XP again?

Alright, so it seems it WAS my connection. No idea what was up with it, but all seems well now, downloading and extracting fine.

For the record though, I did indeed run memtest and chkdsk which were both fine.

Seems it was my crappy internet all along!
