Create a mjpeg from a directory of images

By using PHP is it possible to create an mjpeg from a series of images in a directory? All the images are timestamped so it should just be a case of joining them all together.

Can anyone help or point me towards some example code?

Iirc ffmpeg handles MJpegs, so you could use that to join the images; obviously requires ffmpeg to be installed on the server.
