I want to create an NFS share in Windows 7 Pro to see if that gives better network performance to my media player than SMB?

Is there an easy way to do this?

I've tried HaneWin, but my media player couldn't see the share?

Is there not simply NFS built into Windows 7?

NFS is much faster than SMB.

Trust mail sent.

OK! Using the trial versionof haneWIN and using your doc I got it working! Thanks!

FF/RWD seems a lot quicker with NFS than SMB.

HOWEVER, the hangs for rebuffering I was getting in a couple of very large MKV files over my AV600 homeplugs, I still get.

Note1: I don't get these over a dedicated LAN cable.

Note2: I don't get these via my old XTreamer. Just my Boxee Box.

Is there any tweaks that can be done to improve NFS (or SMB) over homeplugs to improve things? Some pages talk about RSIZE?

Ditch homeplugs is probably the answer here.

Maybe... BUT... my XTreamer played it fine over AV200 homeplugs... And now I've almost doubled the performance with AV600s...

So the network is clearly more than capable... So it's a usage/config issue.

Do a transfer speed benchmark comparing both sets of homeplugs, probably pretty similar. They never get close to their supposed speeds.

I have (carefully)... AV200 were half that of the AV600. The AV600s transfer at around 9MB (bytes) per second.

And again, my XTreamer could play these large MKV files without problems over the AV200s... My Boxee stutters with the large MKVs over even the newer AV600, at key moments such as when there's fire involved in the scene.

I just think the networking connection isn't defined correctly (as well) as the XTreamer uses.

I keep reading abuot RSIZE for example.
