Is there an easy way to create your own liveCD it doesn't matter what distro just as long as I can predefine network settings and install a few daemons.

I've tried PCLinuxOS with mklivecd with very little success... The long winded approach is to build your own squashfs and crap which I don't have time for.

Sorry, that was a little vague.

When I was at uni we used a Slax liveCD for teaching purposes. The lecturer had customized the liveCD so I assumed it was easy and/or a "feature".

I don't know any quick way of doing it [never even tried]. I did come across this article a few times though: http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/7246

Sorry if it is no help :)

There was this website that gave you instructions on creating a liveCD from any distro (even say an Arch Linux LiveCD). Ill try find it for you. Also it had instructions on creating a LiveDVD, as in you would have multiple LiveCD distros on *** one disc and you would select which one you'd want. As in one disc with say Ubuntu, knoppix, Belenix, Slax etc. on the one disc. Very handy.
