so for my latest project at college am in the process of planning to make my own case.

but ive hit a brickwall...... the front i/o pannel

anybody know how one would go about creating one of these?

Erm, surely you'll just be buying whatever switches you like the look of, then arranging them on a front panel of your own design.

Really no point in designing and building your own microswitches, I guess you "could" but why, they'll no doubt end up being huge and clunky.

thansk for the link looks useful.

i was looking at those switches you mentioned earlier but it doesnt look like they come with cables.... and i dont know what cales i need really

Not to make this sound too harsh, but is this project really a good idea for you, if you get confused about choosing something simple such as buttons or cabling, how are you going to cope with the more complex parts?

Lots of electronics components suppliers out there who can provide you with the cable, plugs, and tools to create your own cabling.

i do understand what your saying and am starting to doubt it myself aswell....
with the daunting thought of hard drive alignments, cables......

Google "50cm Vandal Resistant Illuminated Switch Connection Cable".

First link. You can simplify things by using parts of other cases such as hard drive racks and motherboard trays.
