How much water are you guys drinking when supplementing creatine (mono)?

The stuff makes me get spots (I don't get spots so it's paticularly annoying). If I stop taking it they clear up rpetty quickly and go. Generally I drink around 2 litres, should I try maybe increasing it to 3? Just a little worried about drinking TOO much water that's all.

I'm tempted to try find a way to stop the spots it causes though because I definately notice the effects on taking it.

i'd drink more water, can't back this up with scientific fact but i'd say for an individual who works out regularly 2 litres of water is under what you need to be consuming. i alwasy understood it that 2 litres was what an average person needed, someone who works out and sweats etc needs that extra replenishment.

I personally drink quite a lot more but i do quite a bit both in the gym and other forms of exercise.

Considering how creatine draws water to certain cells as well i'd say you definitely need to up your intake. maybe take your creatine with a pint of water or better still grape juice or some other insulin spike? (not orange juice as the acidity is bad for the creatine iirc.)

Drink more water is the easy answer. To become ill from drinking too much water you have to consume a large amount (~4litres iirc) in a short period of time. I drink 3-4litres a day and on a hot day in the gym can consume 2+ litres in a session.

I remember the first day i ever took creatine mono, I drank 6 pints of water without taking a ****.......I use CEE now ;)

No swearing

Do you know where you read this? I always used to take my creatine in OJ. I somehow doubt it's any more acidic than your stomach?

Just out of interest how do you take it and how do you dose it?

Yes it's fine mixing creatine with other supps.

There are some supp's that you should definately be mixing. ALCAR causes some free radicals when metabolized so you should always take some Green Tea and/or Vitamin C with it to help clean them up so to speak.

Also Taurine is one of the best things to take with creatine, they compliment each other nicely ;)

I take it like a man!! :D

*ahem*

Just dissolve ~3gms in some water with taurine and ALCAR (and occasionally AAKG) then chuck it down my neck 45mins before training. Very rarely have it on non-training days.

Yeah same here. As I just said above, it's good practice to take an antioxidant with your ALCAR matey, if you don't already.

I didn't know that. I usually have a hit of cocoa (with a small amount of protein) in the changing rooms before starting training. Perhaps i should have some VitC with the ALCAR too.

I tried to take it like a man on Sat; mixed some CEE, taurine and leucine(?) and tried to gulp it down in one - that was one nasty tasting mofo!

I ran to the corner shop like a big jess and bought a carton of OJ for the next week (I might mix the OJ with water to reduce any acid risks as above).

A good one is to put it all in some pure OJ along with some extra Vit C. The OJ pretty much completely masks the taste and the bioflavanoids in the OJ help your body absorb the Vitamin C ;)

LMAO, I bet that was a shocker first time :D

Leucine is a pain, best way is to spoon it straight into your mouth and then wash it down ASAP. Just be carefull not to breathe in when it's in your mouth, a lung full of that fairy dust would be quite horrible I'd imagine.

I wouldn't worry about the OJ being acidic. The creatine is in it for a matter of seconds before you drink it and besides how do you think the creatine copes with your stomach acid? ;)

Oh man....this gym malarky is making me loose my manliness!

Oh....did no one mention the link between going to the gym and being a homo-gay? I'm sure Styles will be along soon to explain all!! ;)
