I want to backup my Diablo 2 and Expansion pack discs, (I'm on about the 3rd set of cd's for both) keep loosing them etc (all my other games are on steam)

What program can I use to create an ISO file from them that I can mount with virtualclonedrive (or daemon tools)

I used to use Alcohol.. copied the disks perfectly, then mounted in Daemon Tools. Even worked for my Starforce games (TM:S).

i'll give imgburn a bash

i know it works for normal discs, but i assumed this would have some sort of protection

if this is against the rules, please close..

why wouldnt it be legal...he has the disk already

its not like he is asking where he can download it from

thats years old i thought the law had changed since then....im sure ive read your entitled to copy music from your cd to ipod and such.

*EDIT*
scroll down to ARE MP3s LEGAL?

source is birmingham gov uk...so im guessing it should be the same as the rest of the uk unless the brummies have it better than the rest of us:p
i know there is conflicting information out there....also i havent read the whole page.
but i guess what really matters is what the mods say on the matter so if they say its still a no no then i wont ever mention it again

installs super fast now, i just mount all 4 discs at once and it doesn't ask to swap :)

also, there's a 1.12 patch that came out a few days ago guys

Yeah, I suspect with an older game like D2 modern imaging tools will easily beat any of the older protection from 2000.

Incidentally D2 doesn't actually need to be 'installed', I've still got it sat on my games drive for maybe the last 5 years and have been through a few windows installations in that time. Much better than those annoying games that rely on stuff being in the registry etc.

sweet

i guessed it might be like that (has 4 files in the save folder, called key etc), now all my games are portable (besides crysis)
