Yeah, I suspect with an older game like D2 modern imaging tools will easily beat any of the older protection from 2000.
Incidentally D2 doesn't actually need to be 'installed', I've still got it sat on my games drive for maybe the last 5 years and have been through a few windows installations in that time. Much better than those annoying games that rely on stuff being in the registry etc.
Yeah i lost one of my D2 discs ages ago so its lucky you can just copy the folder around, then I use my LOD disk to run it
