creating a barchart in excel to show speed increase over time...

Can any one help? I have excel and want to create a spreadsheet but not sure how. Its been along time since my college days and was never good at the spreadsheet unit ><

I am doing bike rides every few days and taking notes of the times im clocking up. I was going to just write them down in word but thought "hey why not make a spreadsheet and view it as a line chart showing the speed increase over time along with the dates".. i have NO idea how tho lol Does any one know any good websites that would have templates for such a use? Would that be even possible?

I'm by no means an expert but I would have two columns, one for the date (format cells as date) and the next for the speed. Have each row as one day and put the speed for that day in the speed column next to it. Use the chart wizard thingy to make a line chart with column A (the date) as the x axis. Hope this helps.
