Creating a book Cover :S

Hello all.

My mum has finished her new book, which is on its way to becoming a international best seller (hopefully).

We have got loads of great reviews from loads of different people inc (jeffrey (cant spell it) Archer, JK Rowling and some other well known people.)

Only prob is.......

We havent actually got a book cover.

Now I know that we should send it of etc to get it done, but my mum has given me a chance to do it.

You see around 1yr ago the pc crashed and ALL data was lost. My mum offered 10% of the sales of the book to whoever could get the story back.
Loads of data companies jumped at the chance but none could. :rolleyes:

Turns out that I while I was burning a cd one day I also had put a copy of the story on.

My mum is also on top of the 10% giving me the chance to design the cover.

She has outlined what she wants, but I dont know how to go about it.

Any ideas.

Sometimes a cover is what sells a book, so if you don't think you'll be able to produce something professional then get learning and get a lot of feedback and don't design blind. There are a lot of people who think they're designers when they're not (like me lol) and the outcomes aren't that great, so definitely get learning as quick as you can with Photoshop, otherwise get a designer in.

"Don't Judge a book by it's cover...although the cover was designed that way for a reason" If it doesn't look good quite a few people won't buy the book.

edit: if you send me the outlines for it, i'll have a look and if i can produce something you like i'll nab a 3% overhead
