Been a long long time since I posted here!

I've long since lost the PC bug and gained the hifi bug, and I currently use a slimdevices squeezebox plugged into a high end DAC.

I'm considering building a HTPC unit around a Lynx AES16 card - basically a new low jitter pro card that outputs AES/EBU which my DAC accepts.

I won't be using it for video/DVD as I have a PS3 for that, it would just be for outputting FLAC files to my DAC.

I need silent operation and easy access/ control of my music via a remote and display, I'd like to be able to just turn the unit on, let it boot and select audio without having to view anything on my plasma. Silence is also important to me, so noisy fans or drives.

Could anyone help?

Thanks!

Any reason you don't just stick with the SB? You could buy a NAS with SqueezeCenter installed and run from that instead of building a PC to do the same job?
