Creating a forum

Well, there are two ways you can do it.

1) Use a site that hosts a forum for you. My favourite has to be http://invisionfree.com/.

2) Buy web hosting and install phpBB on it

Do you have experience with websites etc?

EDIT: That was a stupid question. Just checked your sig.

Someone is going to point it out so it may as well be me...

with help from a friend I made my own website..
Im still learning XHTML and CSS..

You're trying to charge people for front end design/development when you're unable to make your own website without help? Seriously?

If you have a php enabled webhost I would reccomend phpBB3, used it for months and it's very stable and easy to use.
Making new templates or interfacing it with another website might take some programming skills mind!

PhpBB always had problems before - does the new version 3 tighten it all up?

It used to be a cracking forum until everyone started ripping it apart then it took too much work to keep up and safe!!

Was either looking at PunBB or Invision before, but if phpBB3 is better still all the better.

iirc, when he posted that site asking everyone to have a look at it, none of the pages even had valid xhtml.

I also can't believe you still haven't changed the text under "logo design" on your site, to something of your own (see http://www.edg3.co.uk/services/ for where the original text is from), I told you about that on msn ages ago :)

As for actually making a forum from scratch, well if you know who to select, edit, insert, update and delete data from a database then your well on your way to making a basic forum. Essentially, a everything after is just building on those basic principals.
