Creating a online email system.

How hard would it be to create a online email system like yahoo, hotmail etc for say a 100 then up to 1000 etc users?

In fact is it possible to buy such a program?

The reason being I have a possible building block for a email website for welsh people or in fact a myspace/bebo like site.

Really depends how much money you have...you'd have to have a spare bit imo.

Well, for a start, you need to learn a language so you can write it.

Then you'll need to get the server(s) depending on how many users you want/have.

If you learn a language well and code it yourself then the only expense you'll have is the servers. Keep in mind that you'll need to have something unique so people use the service.
