Hi Guys

I’ve got a piece of software (DbPoweramp) which I use for ripping my cd’s. Ideally I’d like to use this on my home server which is a headless machine (running WHS 2011). However it needs interaction when a cd is entered to actually rip it and then to eject it (the software opens automatically on insertion of a cd)

Is there any way to create a service which will auto rip the cd using dbpoweramp and then eject it once finished? And if so how do I go about it?

Ideally it needs to be this particular cd ripper as it can rip as FLAC and simultaneously create an MP3 copy.

I think it already does that anyway. Its just that dbpoweramp has no built in functions to rip automatically or eject the cd afterwards. Its only through clicking on the buttons in the software that you're able to do so.

I presume this isn't possible as it'd be akin to messing the the software code but was hopefully there may have been a way.

Oh can it? I'll have to check that out.

I did see something called J Rivers Media Centre which i was going to look at as an alternative also

I did try the demo version of MyMovies but it never seemed to work for me and seemed to slow down my server quite a bit.

Seems the functionality is missing from a lot of 3rd party programs, which is odd as the big ones WMP, Itunes etc seem to include it as standard.

It more just didnt ever seem to recognise a cd was inserted into the drive so never really got to the ripping stage. Maybe if i paid it would've worked better i just didnt really want to take the risk.
