Creating a virtual machine, anyone know anything about it?

Wow this is an example of something that should be easy being very hard...

Basically I want to just install and play a collectors edition of Civilization, starting with the first.

I can't because I have a Win 7 64 Pro and it only works within a 32 bit OS.

I've been trying to download a virtual machine copy of XP from Microsofts website but it won't work as I don't have a home version of the OS...:rolleyes:


Can anyone give me any tips on how I might get this to work?

I've used the link above and it tells me:

What should I do now? I've never used a virtual machine before so I'm a bit stuck.

I have an old copy of XP or two that are probably laying around somewhere after I upgraded, do I need to find those out or is there an easier way?

It came up with the same message I uploaded above, I'm going to attempt the three step process again though, fingers crossed.
