creating dvd iso files?

hey ive been taking lots of videos lately of BBQ's, parties, surfing and just general summer fun with my mates (it's been sunny in swansea ofr a change

) and well i was using roxio 10 to convert the edited avi files into a dvd .iso and then magicISO to burn them (as before roxio didnt burn a few dvd's properly so gave up on it) now my question is:

is there a program that can encode to dvd format from iso faster than roxio? im pretty sure that it all depends on my processor but could a different program make a difference?

Use Imgburn. Get it to create an ISO from the avi then burn it.

Best way. ImageBurn does it all, and very fast as well.

does it create a dvd video from an avi? cos i just had a look and coudlnt see that it did? its to be played on dvd-players on tvs, i might just be blind

I might be blind but I can't see that requirement in your OP.

Will your DVD player not play AVIs?

wel that bit was directed about imgburn, but i thought to be able to play videos on a dvd player for a tv they had to be in a dvd format i.e. video_TS and vob files and such by making a dvd video dvd, not just avi files stuck onto a dvd as data files?

and ive just tried playing avi fils that i put on a dvd in the tv's dvd player and it doesnt work

ImgBurn is just for writing to disc (VIDEO_TS, iso's and other images, music files etc).

Try ConvertXtoDVD.
