Creating partition on drive with data

Howdy

Can anyone recommend me a free app that will allow me to create a partition on my WD500AAKS without losing any of the data that's already on it?

I'd like a clean 40GB partition for a fresh install, and a ~450GB partition with the data that's currently already on the drive..

I think GpartEd is supposed to be able to do that.
