Creating seperate partitions for OS/Programs/files HELP!

Hi all, I just did a clean windows installation. I have a 1TB drive and I partioned 300GB for the OS and programs and I want to use the Other partition for files, pics, videos, etc...Is there a particular way to set this up? Thanks

Are you asking how to actually format it? If so type diskmgmt.msc into the start menu search thing. You should be able to see the un-partitioned ~700gb on your drive and then format it as a new drive here.

To change the location of your pictures/videos folders etc you can right click on them then go to properties then go to the location tab and click move.

In your User folder, right click the folder in question (Music for example), go to Properties and then the Location tab. You can then change the location of that folder.

so i cant just cut and paste the 'User' folder into another partition?

No.

Use the location thing, otherwise the registry will still be referencing the old path.
