im looking at making a video, well i slideshow of some pictures, with some music in the backround.. around 4minutes long. how will i go about this? i know nothing at all! lol

would MS movie maker do this? and how would i do it?

thanks

Move maker would do this. Open all the pictures you want into movie maker, drag and drop them onto the timeline, then do the same with the music and hey presto you have the slideshow. It really is that easy.:)

As long as it doesn't invlove loads of transition types. Had a guy show a slideshow he's created at one of the Photography clubs I go to, and I think he's managed to use just about every transition style possible. Really got on my nerves after the first 2 minutes. The slideshow then proceeeded to last over 20 minutes. :( Powerpoint style transitions = fail!

You could always try Microsoft Photo Story 3, will do exactly what you want, it's very intuitive and easy to produce fantastic results, (with or without transitions), and best of all it's free!!

on my old computer movie maker didnt work for some unknown reason so i started using nero and other things - all very painful to use.

after reading your post i gave movie maker another go(id forgot all about it:o) and all i can say is thank you so much for posting this:D its so much better than nero! it does exactly what i want and you can overlay text!

with nero i could only have 99 slides in a slideshow and the smallest i could get the file was 250mb. with movie maker i get all 300 slides plus it was only 79mb.

I use ProShow Gold myself amongst other programs but , I agree with using PhotoStory.
It is fantastic and will render your pictures very quickly . It will even generate music in different styles for you from begining to end . It's very good . It creates the final slide show as a .wmv to show on a Pc but there are programs to convert these to put onto DVD.
