Creating that Web 2.0 look?

When I look at some site designs (http://publicbeta.asp.net/ for example) and see the rounded corders, the gadient headers etc. etc. I often wonder how they achive this type of look, as its something I'd like to recreate. In the above example, how would you create a 'container' such as the ones they use, with rounded corners, a gradient background for the header and a small gradient behind the top of the content text?
I first thought it may just be an image (would solve the rounded corners question), but they boxes are of differing widths, then i thought it may be CSS, or perhaps a combination of the two?

Anyone know of any good resources that show you how to create this type of WEB2.0 effect?

Thanks

Who the hell coined Web 2.0 anyway... 2.0 implies it has replaced other version... which it hasn't.

(Rhetoric, I know it was O'Reilly... I think)
I hate the term too, but most people knows the type of design the term implies...
